PENTAGON-Bridge is the FEM software specially focused on the
structural analysis and the bridge analysis.
The main advantage is placed on the moving
load analysis such as motors, trains and high-speed railways. The
program accommodates various vehicle loads internationally as well as user
definition of new vehicle load as a database.
The moving load can be applied on any type of elements such as
shells, frames, trusses and even solids! The moving load
can be loaded at any position within the elements: it do
not have to be loaded at the nodes in other programs. The
centrifugal force by a vehicle can be easily generated for the multi-arc-curved
bridges by a simple menu.
As other advantages, we are happy to list as below:
-
Material nonlinearly of solid, spring and truss
elements (Plasticity, General elasticity, Anisotropy, Tensile-Compressive-Torsional
strength capability)
-
Geometric nonlinearity of truss and frame elements
-
Internal hinge condition for frame element
-
Isotropic and Anisotropic elasticity for shell
element
-
General link element
(six global/local stiffness in a line-type link element) for earthquake
bearing shoe modeling)
-
Staged construction : elements can be added, removed
and changed of their material/section properties during analysis along
the construction stages
-
Point load, Surface load (uniform, linear and
parabolic), Gravity load(x, y, z), Temperature load (uniform and
gradient), Prescribed displacement load, Prestress, and Residual force
load.
-
Eigenvalue analysis (subspace iteration)
-
Earthquake spectrum analysis (SRSS and CQC)
-
Earthquake analysis in time-history (input:
acceleration-time)
-
General dynamic load analysis in harmonic and
time-history
With the above functions, you can model almost every type of
bridge and structure.
